True Colours, Football Kits Illustrated

Tottenham 1982-83 KitA few weeks we featured footballshirtculture.com in this space, and given the interest that generated, I thought I’d mention that True Colours has relaunched with a much improved site.

It’s the website of the books of the same name by John Devlin, a graphic designer who has produced two marvellous full colour illustrated studies of British football kits since the 1980s.

The kits page features a number of illustrated classics that you can download, to give you a teaser for the books that you can order here.

Thanks to John for permission to reproduce the one to the right, Tottenham’s stylish 1982-83 home kit.

And be sure to check out this podcast interview with John with our friends at EPL Talk.

Lastly, while we’re on the subject of kits, check out this remarkable Flickr collection of Japanese J-League shirts. Quite the barrage of colours.

Thanks to ursus and furtho for the pointers to both sites.
