Five Men Arrested for Premier League Corruption, Who Are They?
The Guardian reports that five men have been arrested in the Premier League corruption investigation.
Five men have been arrested in connection with allegations of corruption in football, City of London police said today. Officers said the men were being held on suspicion of conspiracy to defraud and false accounting.
The suspects – aged 69, 60, 55, 48 and 30 – were taken into custody as more than 60 police officers raided eight addresses. A spokeswoman for the force said three searches were continuing while five others had been completed.
I’ve been told the names of all of those involved and I’m confident they’re correct, but I’m not going to shout them out from here without further corroboration. I will say they are not small potatoes, and they include a man linked prominently with the vacant England job, a well-known agent connected before to questionable transfers, a former Premier League club chairman, another Premier League executive, and a former Premier League player now plying his trade in Scotland.

Harry Redknapp is one of the five people who were arrested as part of the City of London Police’s investigation into football corruption today. The Portsmouth manager is being held at Chichester Police Station on suspicion of conspiracy to defraud and false accounting.
Leicester chairman Milan Mandaric, Portsmouth chief executive Peter Storrie, agent Willie McKay and Charlton midfielder Amdy Faye were the others arrested.
There’s alway been more than the whiff of something dodgy about ol’ Harry, so this is hardly surprising. The plus side is it should rule him out of the England job.

I’m still scratching my noggin on what my reaction is and it is still very early. But i think something should be done about regulating roll and powers of the agents in soccer. It is too muddy, complicated and open for abuse. And fans and players are usually the once getting cheated.
