The goal is to keep a good team on the pitch and get fan involvement up. As the Premier League has gone the way of F1, rich mans toys, to have the opportunity to invest and be a part of a team, to help develop young talent, and hope to move the team up to a higher league are all reasons that I invested in the club. As a football coach and fan from across the pond I hope to watch the team via internet and support them however I can.

I dont think they have to worry about too many signing up - the excitement will seem great now. I'm just sceptical it will last much more than 3-6 months. For many, the major, major draw is the idea of picking the team. When they realise that being 1 of 20,000 doesn't quite feel like picking the team, I fear their interest will drop.

Time will tell however and it will be fascinating to watch.

Weenie, one suggestion on the admin fee I've seen raised on the MyFC forum is that there should be a cap -- if it became hugely popular (say a 100,000+ sign up), would they really need that much more money than they have now to run things? What do you think?

Hello, another MyFC member here!

Much has been made of the £7.50 for admin but at the end of the day, why should the people behind the scenes, eg the legal team, web master/designer, team of developers, admin staff, tea ladies, etc work for free? They have mortgages and bills to pay too like the rest of us!?

And why shouldn't Will Brooks (the man behind MyFC) make money - it was his idea, his audacity, his hard work that has allowed this all to happen.

Many people are perhaps jealous that they didn't think of it first, but if this is a success, there will be many copycats.

At the end of the day, what is success? Avoiding relegation? Promotion to league status? Promotion to the Premier League? The club not getting into any debt/further debt ?

All of the above are possible (though of course not easy).

Onwards and upwards for the Fleet!

Woo hoo - quoted and all! :O I'm in no way fit to be the voice of MYFC supporters, just one guy who's optimistic about it at this early point.

Just about to run off to the airport (I'm on my way to Chicago, as a matter of fact) so no more windy tomes from me.

I agree with you pretty much completely. There's a bit of euphoria around it seems, and a seemingly genuine feeling of "we're all in it together! Who wants to get a rideshare going?"

But also many things worth being cautious and vigilant about. Yes, I think the people spearheading this should be allowed to make some profit out of it. To that end, I've made a 70 dollar bet that everything is on the up and up. If it ever proved not to be the case, well I'm out my money - learned my lesson. It won't kill me. But I sure can understand the apprehension of people who have been associated with the club for a long time, and see this coming over. The good thing (as I see it), as opposed to most other takeovers, is that there's an avenue for them to take a stake.

It's good to see that both the chairman (you'd expect that) and the current manager have made statements
