Pitch Invasion

Well, the Beckham circus passed through another city, another stadium’s seats were filled, and another set of regular supporters made it clear how little they care about David Beckham. The DC Sports Bog caught it all on camera.

Two observations on the video: one, it says a lot about this entire farce that Beckham deemed it a “successful night” after the game, even though his team lost. Two, DC United’s Bobby Boswell pops up at the end, and it’s definitely worth paying attention to the rest of the comments he made to the DC Sports Bog about Beckham, and his own follow-up on bobbyboswell.com. A taster:

I watched Chelsea when they played L.A.; I don’t care about him taking his shoe off. I am absolutely baffled how Eric Wynalda–guys that have played the game–are just riding this thing like they don’t give a damn. It just baffles me. It’s a shame, man. That’s not going to do soccer any good in this country, to have stuff like that.
