Saddam or Glazer?

Whose more unpopular in Manchester – Saddam Hussein or Malcolm Glazer? Football fan and filmaker Adrian Goldberg explores the origins and progress of FC United of Manchester, offering insight into why fans abandoned the glories of the Manchester United Megastore for life as a minnow. It’s essential viewing for all supporters of any team, and perhaps especially for Leeds fans this week.

EDIT: Reader Bounder notes that the Glazer/Saddam bit was filmed in Birmingham, not Manchester. So I didn’t even recognise it wasn’t even in a city I used to live in.

  1. It’s a nice little film – although from memory the Saddam vs Glazier bit is filmed in Birmingham. No point in looking for Man U fans in Manchester after all.

  2. Thanks for the correction, Bounder.
